Living in Manchester

With an estimated population of about 110,500 people, Manchester is the most populous city in the state of New Hampshire, and often appears high up on lists ranking the most affordable cities, the best cities for small businesses, and the happiest places to live in the U.S. Personally, we attribute those high rankings to the multitude of unique food and craft brew options available in the area. But, if you ask 10 people living in Manchester why it’s such great place to call home, you’d probably get 10 different answers because living in Manchester means a lot of things.

Being a Manchester resident means living in a developed city, but also being surrounded by beautiful, green mountains. It means having access to all the conveniences of a metropolitan area, but also having the option to get away from it all and enjoy some peace and quiet in the country. And it means being able to enjoy the benefits of all four seasons, without having to travel.

Besides the fact that we never run out of ideas for where to eat or grab a post-work brew, we love living in Manchester because we constantly feel inspired to grow and connect with our community. Manchester is home to numerous higher education institutions, which gives our city the youthful vibe we thrive on. In fact, Millennials make up about one-fifth of the total population. Michael Skelton, president and CEO of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce was recently quoted as saying, “Manchester is on a really positive trajectory,” and noted that there are a lot of jobs available right now and that a low cost of living is very much possible there.

In short, Manchester is a great place to live, start a business, or raise a family because it has so much to offer. From art museums to sporting events to music festivals in the streets, whatever type of lifestyle you’re seeking, you can find it here in Manchester, New Hampshire.
